The Final Update

2025-12-15

This is what I expect to be the final update for the game, version 2.5. It contains no gameplay changes, but some Quality of Life updates and improvements: • updated engine/core code • visual improvements to volumetric lights, general graphics, building effects • removed Unity Analytics and privacy screen. I am officially ending support for the game with this patch. If there are serious bugs I will of course fix those, but there will be no further updates aside from that. The game is complete and there is nothing on my wishlist that I would want to add. It has been an interesting journey, both in its highs and lows. The game has reached a lot of players, and for a while there were a good number of streamers and YouTubers playing. I'm glad that you all enjoyed a few hours in the Black Forest and it's night terrors. Thank you all.

Overall i liked the game. I like the dark atmosphere and different creatures that attack you. But they attack you constantly and destroy your buildings. It's not a game that you play to relax it is frustrating most of the time.

The developer cared enough to patch a now widely know unity bug, after the couple of years of being ?finished? anyway I do vaguely remember playing this game. It was neither bad nor good in my memory, but if you have played similar games it could be forgettable. Edit: Fixed typo not to nor

I would recommend the game as it is a piece of art. Eerie atmosphere, original and very black foresty European story, its beautiful and has good gameplay mechanics. However, performance wise it doesn't play well for me on Linux with very recent hardware, other heavy games run fine. The UI is sluggish and everything underperforms to the point it is unplayable, I deeply regret this as I'd like to play it more...
