Slow, bland and painfully repetetiv picture book, and even for the minimalistic interaction there is, the control/input style feels quite bad. Story/stories are forgettable and unimaginative, and even the art style is the same "Corporate Memphis" you already forget while you are looking at it.

i really enjoyed it! it's definitely more of a story than a game, but it has the most charming art style and it was fun to play on a summer day with a glass of iced tea. maybe not for the "serious gamers" but i had a lovely time.

Now that the game lost the ONLY redeeming quality, the print adventures, it's absolutely not worth buying. (Why not make them print-on-demand is beyond me. Ebooks just totally don't cut it.) The problem is, it's TOO repetitive. There are only 12 paths, each consisting of 4 parts. The beginning (part 1) is ALWAYS the same. The ending (part 4) is also always the same with a very minor variation. The part 2 has only...

Burley Men at Sea is really more of a digital choose-your-own-adventure book than an adventure game, and I do like choose-your-own-adventure books. What's more the art and sound are good, it feels like a lost picture book from when you were a kid. The problem I have with BMaS is that as cute and well written and charming as it is, it's just really slow to play. I couldn't find a way to skip dialogue or fast forward...
