The writing itself is quite straightforward. It has a bit of everything - mystery, romance, magic, school life. However, it really is a bit of everything. It's not bad, but not great, either. In many ways, it just sort of is. It's short, and feels like a part one - the rules of magic are left vague, despite the game being entirely about magic, at least in theory.
