It's a charming, beautiful little game. The soundtrack is amazing, the character design is endearing, the gameplay is crisp and tight, the levels are thoughtful and challenging without being frustrating, and the leaderboard makes chasing high scores an addictive experience. Classic. When I played UFO 50 back in 2024, I clocked it right away as my game of the year. This is the epitome of 'arcade-game' style, and I'm all here for it. Not a huge 2D fan, but the art style and audio polish really drew me in. I like how when I first play a level I am moving slow and discovering it, and when I inevitably die and have to replay through the levels I am speedrunning them like I'm in a Let's Play just seeing how quick I can go.
