Today marks the first anniversary of Wednesdays, and what a year it has been! Let’s start with some incredible news: We won The Audience Award at the IGF! The most prestigious indie game festival! And that is all thanks to you! Thank you for your votes, your kind words and your support for the game. As a token of our gratitude, and to celebrate Wednesdays’ birthday, we added a new scene to Wednesdays as a free update! You will find it in the Chapters section (make sure your game is up to date if you don’t see it) In this new scene, you will be able to ask us, the game developers, (almost) any question you’d like, in an interactive interview/round table of sorts. We hope you’ll enjoy this fun “behind the scenes” content as much as we enjoyed making it! But that’s not all: Wednesdays now is available on mobile too! As a loner going through an early midlife crisis, bad life choices and anxiety attacks, this game came like a new light. I know many out there are carrying burdens far heavier than mine, some without even doing anything wrong. To everyone I say, Be BRAVE, Stay STRONG, no matter how bad it gets. Also, thank you to Arte France for giving away such a gem for free.

What does it mean to raise awareness about sexual abuse? This is the question the game is trying to answer with the players. The game is framed around a survivor playing a childhood game and recollecting their memories by building amusement park attractions. Their memories are not chronological: some memories are fun slice-of-life anecdotes exploring sexuality, and others are harrowing learning experiences where...

(Skip to the bottom for my advice to survivors or anyone hesitant about the content of this game) Wednesdays... how do I do this game justice in a review. Wednesdays manages to portray child sexual abuse masterfully using what has to be the most difficult medium out there: a video game.
