SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition is the only game where you can spend an entire evening designing a perfectly symmetrical cloverleaf interchange… only to bulldoze it 10 minutes later because it “didn’t spark joy”. After 3000+ hours, I can confidently say this game is a masterpiece of slow‑burn city building, urban zen, and the occasional catastrophic budget meltdown. To get this game to work, including high resolution, high FPS, and AUTOSAVE: - go to https://community.simtropolis.com/forums/topic/762953-performance-and-graphics-list-index-of-all-critical-mods-to-install/ - install all critical mods, from top to bottom. Take your time, read the readme files or the explanation on the webpage. It will take you like 20 minutes in total, but it should work and make the game better...

Vanilla, pound for pound without any mods this is still the best true city builder to date. With that said the game has a huge modding community and even then, it still might be the best city builder. I have hundreds of hours in the game off of steam. However, the game runs sub 1080p out of the box. Easy fix. Right click the game in steam and click on properties. Where you see “Launch Options” copy and paste this...
