I give this game a thumbs up simply because it does what it sets out to do. It’s a rogue-like game. It accomplished it’s mission. But it’s still very hard for me to recommend it because it doesn’t really do anything special or new. Game plays very intuitive. If you have played games like Neoverse or Slay the Spire you're good to go. Anathema takes a bit to understand but you get used to it fairly quick.
Enemy design is pretty cool and the effects are well made.
Build variety comes as you level up/unlock certain EXP Stages.
Some transitions are a bit slow but considering this is a day 2 review that might be a thing of the past by the time you...

The game is solid, especially coming out of Slay the Spire as my intro to the genre.
It feels good to play, there is a lot of variety in the different elements. I picked up the water deck and the game suddenly felt a lot more strategic, compared to the constant gas of the fire element.
