This is another great adaption and production by the legendary John Romero. It has the solid engine that the classic Ultimate DOOM has and in this game they also added items. I am, after playing this for 4 hours, not sure if the items actually are necessary, but it is nice to be able to use familiar items like invincibility on command. An awesome game. In the idTech1 (Doom Engine) context: great fantasy theming, textures, monsters' sprites, weapons' models.. It seems the same as doom at first but clearly Doom is more fun because of enemies and weapons balance.

Heretic: Shadow of the Serpent Riders . A nice and original doom-like shooter. I like the dark fantasy setting, but honestly I think that the level design is not really good. .
