Fun concept, but fundamentally broken. Not Recommended. - Grinding is a slog. You get more XP from a 12-month run than a 100-month endless run. There’s no point in going long-term. - Balance is a joke, it’s not a card game, it’s a tower spam simulator. Towers are so OP that units are useless. Border Pioneer has good bones. The core gameplay loop feels good. The UI is really slick. Why the negative review? The game balance is utterly atrocious. It's incredibly easy even on the hardest difficulty, with the exception of one sticking point is that depending on your random card gain, you can end up short on food and having to make do while limited on that resource. I hope the devs hire someone to help...

I just beat the last level of the regular campaign (5-3) and I felt like I needed to leave a review because I love this game. The whole time I completely enjoyed it and had so much fun and will definitely keep playing the bonus campaigns/try for high scores and endless mode. Might be my game of the year for real.
