An excellent text-heavy incremental game. Lots of unlockable mechanics, an engaging enough story, and challenges that require strategy to complete. I played the sequel (Magic Research 2) first. Both have active gameplay for an incremental game (without devolving into encouraging autoclicker or macro use), but Magic Research 1 is the more active of the two since items are not automatically used in combat. Numbers go up. Dopamine. This game has a satisfying progression loop and "offline time" system.
