DEATH STRANDING DIRECTOR'S CUT

Hello! I am Koshiposhi. I’ve been cosplaying and attending conventions since I was 13 years old, and got into cosmaking over the past few years! I am a product/industrial design University student, which lends itself to my cosplay work. DEATH STRANDING was the first proper narrative videogame I've ever played (I have mainly only played things like mariokart and smashbros with my brother before LOL), as I was previously more into anime and manga. I fell in love with the game immediately, its story and mechanics were really wonderful and I loved exploring the world at my own pace! Tell us about your cosplay. Who are you cosplaying as, and why? I cosplay Sam Porter Bridges (DEATH STRANDING Uniform version). He is definitely my favourite character, I found him to be incredibly inspiring to me. His story made me want to become a better, more hardworking person and open up more to others, as in the past I tended to be very withdrawn and unwilling to give new friendships a chance. I liked his new uniform design in DEATH STRANDING 2 very much, so I decided I wanted to build it! It's made from a combination of second hand items which I adjusted and tailored and many fully hand-made elements too! It was my most ambitious cosplay project so far for sure! What game advice would you give to DEATH STRANDING newcomers? Stick with it! I see too many people not giving the game a proper chance beyond the first couple hours, but I think the journey you take through the game becomes much more important than the end point or the combat bits, I promise! DEATH STRANDING is the best. What does the DEATH STRANDING community mean to you? It really means a lot to me. I was often quite reserved and didn't tend to retain friendships very easily, but I was able to make so many new friends through DEATH STRANDING, it was really fun to open up and flourish while sharing and talking about our common interest in DEATH STRANDING. We have remained friends since our first meetup, and it's really wonderful to be able to find more common interests and activities even outside of the game itself! Everyone is so creative and welcoming within the community, I have never really seen such a well managed and friendly fanbase before. Favourite prop you’ve ever built? My semi-functional odradek! Although I am currently repairing it, I was really proud of getting the open-close to actually work! I improved my soldering and wiring skills and was pleased that I did not electrocute or burn myself at all. I harvested the old wings from an odradek print I had previously bought as they were lighter and smaller. It was pretty tough to figure out how to get the joints of the arm to not constantly collapse and actually stay posed, but I eventually came up with a solution to get the joints to have as much friction as possible! I also loved making my EVA foam autohood attachments and painting my cargo cases, I think they came out looking the most realistic out of my props.
