Crisis Management (v6.13)
2026-09-28Update v6.13 - Crisis Management & London Adjustments Version 6.13 completely redefines the end-game failure state, replacing instant game-overs with a desperate, last-ditch tactical mode to save the city. • Enter Crisis Mode: When a neighborhood overflows, the game no longer immediately ends. Instead, Crisis Management mode triggers. Players can choose to either forfeit (accepting the standard Game Over) or attempt to avert the crisis by reducing the overflow in the critical magenta neighborhood. • Tactical Triage: Overflow can be managed by directly towing vehicles out of the failing neighborhood, or by making the heavy decision to demolish the neighborhood entirely.

• Desperate Trades & Instant Refunds: To secure the necessary tow trucks or demolish tools, the Item Exchange remains fully accessible during a crisis. If inventory is empty, the grid itself can be cannibalized. Greyed-out roads (those waiting for final cars to pass before returning to inventory) can now be instantly refunded by hovering over them and clicking the refund arrow. For now, this option for an instant refund is limited to Crisis Management. • The Cost of Survival: Instantly refunding active roads forces any vehicles currently routed there to either find a new path or crash. As introduced in v6.12, every crashed vehicle deducts from the final AQR score. Survival comes at a cost. • The "FINAL" Indicator: To remove guesswork from the mid-game, the word "FINAL" now appears on-screen when the last neighborhood of a session is generated, signaling that the spawning phase is definitively over. • London Market Rebalance: London's item exchange has been updated. Players can now trade roads for tow trucks (ensuring Crisis Mode is viable on this map) and trade overpasses for roads (a highly requested market adjustment). • UI Audio Controls: UI button click sounds are now properly linked to the Effects Volume slider in the settings, allowing them to be quieted or completely silenced. • Visual Bug Fix: Resolved an issue where leftover text characters from the info panel would sometimes visually persist on the board when starting a new game.
