The truly correct reviews of No Straight Roads you'll see are the ones that tell you it's kind of underbaked and mediocre as an action game with everything else carrying the stable, and I'm here to affirm that it's basically all true. In general, this is a very modest recommendation if not a 5/10 type review because while I love this developer and so much about this game, I don't doubt that a lot of people will walk...

good game: the art style is beautiful, the bosses are fun and unique, but the camera is garbage, specifically in multiplayer. it screwed us over many times in perfect parry mode.

NSR walked awkwardly though the door so Hi-Fi Rush and Dead as Disco could blaze through the path it created. Unfortunately, NSR is more theatric than it is technical, making gameplay feel more clunky than it actually is and slower than what it should be. It's not a bad game by any means, but it just doesn't do anything well enough to write home about. That being said, the art direction and the music are the best...

Reviewers played it for 9 hours (the median). At $24.99, that's $2.78 an hour. A cinema ticket is about $6 an hour.
