Astlibra Played the game awhile back — 15 year Solo dev, passion project, work of art, top-tier in its class.
If I had a list and ASTLIBRA was on it, you would also find: DUST an elysian tale, SOTN, afterimage, Lunacid, valdis story, neir automata, the vagrant, on that same list for various reasons.
Pros: Music, story, pacing, gameplay all top tier.
Cons: Nothing memorable enough to mention.

This game TOOK OVER my life for an entire couple of months.
If you play the demo or only the first two or three hours of it, you might be mistaken into believing this is just a generic 2D action RPG that sort of captures the aesthetics of 90s PC games, especially some PC98 or X68K or FM Towns titles.
It is not.

A labor of love made over 14 years, and it shows. Absolutely fantastic game. If you like action RPGs at all, or if you've ever found yourself thinking "What if Ys III: Wanderers from Ys was good?", this game is for you.
The gameplay is fun, fast, and there's a huge variety of different character builds and ways you can approach combat. The game is constantly throwing new mechanics at you, and it continually evolves...
