The Doors of Trithius

When your character dies, their Records are also saved separately. These files will eventually be used for a Hall of Fame. We've added tracking for everything interesting we could think of. Let us know if anything is missing. Load Game by Character The Load Game menu now organizes saves by character. Characters appear on the left, sorted by most recently played. Selecting one displays their saves on the right. There is also a "Delete Character" button, which removes every save belonging to that character. Quest: Garrison Repairs A new repeatable quest has been added to the pool. Town guard captains offer a job to repair the garrison's damaged equipment. The equipment is drawn from whatever that faction's guards use. It is serious grunt work with low pay, but a safe way to quickly gain Quartermastery experience. Thank you to Artemis, The Hungry Wolf Lady on Discord, who suggested this quest as another way to level Quartermastery. Bookshelves Bookshelves are now functional furniture that can store your books. Old Gidley the carpenter stocks small and large versions, and both can also appear in the furniture loot pool. Essentially, they work like regular storage containers, but only accept book related items: lore books, skill books, recipes, and magebooks. Each bookshelf's sprite matches its contents, filling up visually as you stock more books. Small shelves look full after roughly a dozen or two books, while large shelves take around thirty. Shoutout to new guy on Discord for your request for library furniture. Bloodwood Trees Bloodwood Trees have new art, including red soil surrounding their roots. Job Board Pages Job boards with more than six jobs now have multiple pages (previously quests beyond six were hidden from the job board). Other Changes • Nerton is now guaranteed to have an open general store when you start the game. • The Options menu has received a layout pass: it is wider, the controls line up, long dropdowns scroll, and options requiring a restart display a small badge. • Guard captains now comment on your condition (bleeding, hungry, overloaded, and so on), like governors and shopkeepers do. • Saved dates on the Load Game menu now follow your language's date format, such as "Sep 20, 2026, 8:57 PM", instead of "2026-09-20 20:57". • The Completed group now sits at the bottom of the quest journal. • The old Render Mode option (Direct3D or Java OpenGL) has been removed. On some Linux systems the OpenGL setting left the game on a black screen (something better will replace it very soon.) • A new game now starts at 8 in the morning instead of midnight. • The Knight now has a chance to start with a two-handed sword, axe, or mace instead of a one-handed weapon and shield. • Weapon and armour wear now has a small amount of variability, so gear no longer breaks after an exact number of hits. On average it still wears out at the same rate as before. Bug Fixes Notable Fixes • Kills from wounds you applied (bleed, poison, and secondary ability effects) now count as yours, including for Oath of the Fallen and other on-kill effects. • Fixed crashes involving keyboard-targeted lunges. • Fixed the game sometimes continuing to treat Shift as held after closing the Steam overlay, preventing numpad attacks and mouse movement. • Fixed sound effects leaving audio streams open for the rest of the session, a probable cause of stutter after long play sessions. Stability & Performance • Fixed several issues related to keyboard targeting for lunge abilities. • Fixed a crash caused by abilities targeting invisible objects in towns. • Fixed a possible error screen after alt-tabbing out of the game on Windows. Combat, Abilities & Skills • Fixed armed monsters hitting harder while you were fighting bare-handed. • Fixed the Brawler not starting with Tattered Hand Wraps as intended (75% chance). • Fixed kills from Toxic Plume's poison and from Ignite's burning not counting as your kills. • Fixed kills from Overload's discharge, Flame Aura, the Arcane Staff surge, storm tornadoes, electrified tiles, and Shield Deflection not counting as your kills. • Fixed Blade Surge and Deep Gashes triggering off non-physical abilities such as Knight's Challenge. • Fixed the maximum energy cost for summons no longer applying after you had five live summons of the same animal type. • Fixed Stormwrighting ignoring Tyros attunement granted by passives. • Fixed healing efficiency being applied to life steal after rounding, which could display the wrong amount of health restored. • Fixed Summon Brambles displaying a movement slowdown of 75 when the actual value is 100. • Fixed Executioner's Strike announcing that it consumed 0 verdict stacks. • Fixed Executioner's Strike playing at full volume regardless of the sound effects setting. • Fixed stuns from abilities and enchantments showing a blank icon in the status bar. • Fixed the Breakthrough enchantment unlock remaining purchasable despite doing nothing when every standard enchantment was already known. • Fixed "Gained 1 Oath of the Fallen" and similar ability lines never appearing in the log with the combat log off. • Fixed Overload's "Your attack is overloaded!" appearing with the combat log off, and ahead of the attack when it was on. Items • Fixed the Ring of Elemental Creation, Warden's Shield, Sun Amulet, and Squirrel's Hand continuing to summon after being unequipped, dropped, sold, or broken. • Fixed unidentified potions changing their count when identified, which could duplicate or lose potions. • Fixed loose stacks of ammo being duplicated when dropped while the same ammo was equipped. • Fixed shops, loot, and monsters still handing out weapons retired in the weapons update: Mercenary Light Crossbow, Sentry's Heavy Crossbow, Gilded Light Crossbow, Heavy Arbalest, Steel War Axe, Hardened Battle Axe, and Marksman's Longbow. Ones you already own are unchanged. Crimson Guard crossbowmen now carry a Siegebreaker Crossbow and Stonewarden arbalests their own Bastion Crossbow. • Dreadheart Battlestaff - removed Retreat Chance bonus, replaced it with a new weapon bonus, "Dreadstride: whenever you attack, 15% chance to gain Movement Advantage on your next turn." Quests, NPCs & World • Fixed cave rocks walling off patches of floor, which could leave mushrooms and other harvestables out of reach. • Fixed handing Sagohai's staff back while wielding it, which left you with a quest item you could not drop. • Fixed armies joining battles their faction had no part in. • Fixed stepping down-left from the entry tile in Sagohai's Cabin incorrectly taking you back out to the overworld. • Fixed leaving the weapon maker's shop putting you behind the magic door instead of in front of it. • Fixed insanity illusions staying in town after the insanity ended. • Fixed loading the stairs auto-save gathering your summons around you instead of leaving them where they stood. • Removed a "Failed to select a map event" debug warning from the plains. The underlying situation is intentional: at high wisdom levels, the plains no longer trigger map events. Interface, Controls & Text • Fixed a number of incorrect and awkward translations in Polish. • Fixed the Chest equipment slot being translated as a storage chest in Japanese, Korean, French, and Portuguese. • Fixed some log messages, ability requirements, and ability upgrade texts appearing in English in other languages. • Fixed the Enable Combat Log option also writing combat_log.txt into the game folder. The file now follows the Combat Log File option. • Fixed the Mercenary, Street Urchin, Commoner, Pyromancer, and Fulminar showing no card on the death screen. • Fixed long item names running under the price in shop lists and off the edge of item tooltips. • Fixed the level-up page's dream text running off the screen and putting Continue over its last row. • Fixed the main menu's Patch Notes button doing nothing on Steam for Linux.
