Brilliant old school Point&Click Adventure! I really like the protagonist and the other characters, the story and gameplay, voice-acting, intro music - and the graphics are nice for that pixel style too. Seriously can't think of anything to complain about! Fantastic story, awesome voice actor, and some really good puzzles. This game scratched a Gabriel Knight/Twin Peaks itch so completely

Don't get me wrong — Kathy Rain is a wonderful game. A great detective adventure with an occult flavour and a likable protagonist. But this Director's Cut is a completely pointless and unnecessary. It doesn't add anything fundamentally new to the game, and it drags out sections that were already good as they were. The whole set of changes between the original game and the DC would've been enough for a small update...

I really don't understand all the praise for this game. Don't get me wrong; The art is gorgeous, mostly well voice-acted, and it is perfect to play on the Steam Deck (with caveats that I will discuss later). Granted, I was basically going in blind outside of the general understanding that I would have to solve some sort of mystery, so I really didn't know what I was getting myself into story-wise.
