Walked up and down the same hallway for an hour so i can fight a very rare encounter - Warmech - the strongest foe in the game. Finally encounter it and it flees after 2 turns.

Until I picked up all six Pixel Remasters, I had never truly played through a Final Fantasy game. The closest I came was a few hours of Final Fantasy X roughly a decade ago, which barely counts as a proper introduction. This ended up being a surprisingly perfect place to begin. This game is like a warm blanket. Side note, Spend some FF7 Remake levels of cash to remake the first six games in Amano's actual art style. People would buy that!

Funniest review
My friends have all been in a very strong FFXIV phase and have been trying to get me to play with them and I jokingly told them that I wouldn't understand the story because I haven't played the other 13 games, so I started playing them and 100% all of the old Final Fantasy games to mess with them.
