its incredibly pathetic that EA tries to force you to install their app to play this game. I would not have bought this game if I had known this the case. However if you have already paid for it you can get around that by navigating to the game folder/swgame/binaries/win64 and launching swgamewin64shipping.exe in there. Pin it to your desktop, and go to hell Electronic Arts.

Wanted to go back to play this. But It won't let me unless I install the EA app. If I buy something on steam, I shouldn't have to install another game platform to play it. I shouldn't have to do some work-around that disables achievements and the steam overlay just to play a game I bought on steam. Any update that stops me from playing the single-player game I already bought is cause for a refund. I'll give it a bit...

The game itself is fun, but you need the EA app for a seemingly compatibility purpose. The app still does not regognize the game and half the time requires you to relog into your origin account. Its a pathetic system. Having to either restart or log in 50% of the time is awful. As I'm typing this, the EA app crashed 4 times on its own. Great SW content, but poor struture around the game's logistics.
