I grew up playing the Commandos Series, and I loved it dearly. The challenging missions and hours I was spending meticulously finishing a mission without raising an alarm were a completely joyful experience. kinda buggy and awkward. Good game though, if you can get past that. Got tired of playing around some of the awkwardness in near the end, so its a no for me. Examples: delay in character response, unintuitive pathfinding, snapping vision cones in a stealth game, guards know where you hide if caught but vision lost

Many people in the reviews complain about the controls, and I don’t argue with that; by default they’re quite inconvenient, but who’s stopping you from reassigning them? Overall, the game is quite controversial, especially in terms of history, but it is still first and foremost a game, not a textbook, and as for the gameplay, it is quite exciting, especially if you try to go through everything without unnecessary...

It was fine. Enjoyable enough if you like the genre, but not near the top. Gets the basics mostly right, but was noticablity rigid with encounter approaches (unless you count going guns blazing flexibility) and polish was lacking which led to some frustrations with character actions/pathfinding. There is a story, but it's just used to bridge the missions, did not find it compelling. Also the animated style...
