A transitional entry that modernizes with a city hub and switchable perspectives. It most clearly shows that shadows are not scenery but a primary instrument.

Works fine on Steam Deck. The main community control layout has some nonsense (270% stick sensitivity? Why?) so I shared a fixed version. Gameplay is simple but the emergent storytelling is fantastic. The voice acting and sound design are impressive. A real joy to play for any fan of immersive, emergent worlds.

Brings back so many childhood memories. Play with Sneaky Upgrade and ReShade - worth it. The former changes the gameplay a bit, adds few cosmetic options, has new textures, and quite a lot of convenience settings, merges certain maps together for smoother play. The latter simply makes the game look gorgeous. Many call this game the weakest of the originals. I can say that, to me, it's the best one in the franchise....

With the “Sneaky Upgrade” mod, you get a well-crafted stealth adventure with that classic Thief vibe. While it doesn't quite match the caliber of the first two games, it still looks pretty good even in 2026. 8 out of 10 Taffers.
