Yes its free and still feels like old game. BUT free version gives NO characters to play. So to play this "free" game you need to spend money. Only the download is free which is dumb AF.

Don't listen to all the negative reviews complaining about "only 1 character". It's been like this since launch and rotates often. Anyway, this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ goated.

I played the first KI on SNES. I flayed the skin on my thumbs to get the combos right. I literally bled for the game. Was it worth it? Hell yes! This is just as awesome!

It's odd that people are complaining that the free to play version doesn't come with all of the characters? I could name 10+ games where you have to buy or EARN your characters by playing the game. Additionally, imagine paying full price for any of the "newer" MK's, and then having to pay an additional kidney to get a character that should've been added in the original roster (Takeda, Tanya, Shang Tsung, Nightwolf,...
