In classic Ron Gilbert style this game opens with a promising narrative and concept with the X-Files meets Twin Peaks meets St Elsewhere, giving us interesting characters and a mystery that the player can very readily get invested in. However, at the last second it anaemically limps towards a non-existent finish line because its creator has a vehement hatred for actually giving his games satisfying endings.

A true masterpiece. Real pixel art, not AI sloppa. Great voice acting. The game plays to its strengths. Very rewarding casual experience. It's all about the vibe, the ambiance, taking it all in. Just enjoy the coffee and pie, my guy. After your third playthrough, it's fun to switch up the music. Strange Trails by Lord Huron or Meddle by Pink Floyd come to mind. Don't forget to enable Ransom's uncensored speech...
