It's very solid despite being smaller than the base game and barbarian invasion. Even if you are not into modding, the vanilla campaign is great for 1 playthrough, and historical battles are 100% worth playing.

Overall: Worth a playthrough if you enjoyed the base game, feels historical and high pressured! The great: Cool (but small) Macedonian roster with highly effective (and satisfying) phalanx. High stakes as Alexander must never die (plus a timer). New map, The historical battles and sequence battles are welcome. Brian Blessed! Great campaign. It eluded me when I spent a zillion hours in Rome: TW. It is not completely removed because Total War: ROME REMASTERED adds this to your library. Also, the remastered version is in Total War: ROME REMASTERED too, but not as a standalone. (Also, it is a bit old and doesn't like ALT+TAB too much)

I love everything about it. The only dislikes I have are issues of personal tastes, things that can be fixed with modding, and the such.
