Half-Life 2: Episode One

Good game, even if its short. Really fun to 100% complete. NOTE: If you want to 100% achievement hunt this game, do it in the separated versions (aka hidden under "Tools"). If you dont do that, the achievements from the merged version will NOT transfer to the separated versions.

Though generally not as highly regarded as Episode 2, I have always been very fond of Episode 1 because of the setting. Running around in the crumbling ruins of City 17, rescuing people while wreaking havoc among the scattered, weakened Combine forces is a really good time. God, what a shame that this narrative was never finished. I was so obsessed with these games as a much younger man. And for good reason. Half-Life as a setting is pure post-apocalyptic alien menace. None of the bloat that ruins modern games, these experiences were trim, challenged more than your trigger finger, and had plenty of replay value, PURELY THROUGH GOOD GAMEPLAY.
