I spent hundreds (perhaps thousands?) of hours playing TA as a kid.
TA was an incredible technical feat in 1997. Full 3D units that turn, aim, and fire at enemies, 3D height-mapped terrain, gravity, projectile physics, dynamic shadows, environmental fires. The grandaddy of large scale combat RTS
Total Annihilation is a classic 90s RTS that still holds up well in 2026. It’s one of my favorites, alongside Warzone 2100 (WZ2100 rules, you should try it).
