Update Notes: Early Access Update #15 - Custom Scenarios
2026-09-29CUSTOM SCENARIOS Early Access Update #15 - v0.18 Notes Custom Scenarios Custom Scenarios mode (which you may have seen previously as just "Scenario Mode") lets you adjust a variety of starting conditions and settings when you start a new game. These include parameters like starting survivors, shelters, resources and experience; and playability tweaks like event frequency, weapon durability, and item stack size. Some content for Custom Scenarios, such as starting survivors and starting locations, are locked until they are discovered in a Main Game or Custom Scenario playthrough. (This isn't retroactive, so they'll unlock moving forward.) The Custom Difficulty settings have also been folded into the Custom Scenario settings. Adjustments

• Bowman's Unmoored Trait, in addition to its current ability, now has an extra effect: gains relationships at a reduced rate. In Custom Scenarios, if Bowman is selected as a starting character, his Unmoored trait has this effect exclusively. This prevents the situation where the Custom Scenarios mode run ends immediately because Bowman is selected as the sole starting survivor. • Joe now experiences more grief if Isaiah dies. • Rebalanced food distribution in the early phases of the game so that it is more plentiful in loot points early on to ensure more success in finding food earlier in the playthrough. This is offset by having less food later on. • Added a check to prevent Hudson's Survivor Mission starting shelter event from triggering without another survivor in the shelter. • Adjusted the balancing of the Trapping Station. • Updated the music system in scavenging to be more reactive towards what is happening. • Adjusted the outdoor reverbs to match the space more closely. • Added music to Tracy's survivor mission. • Updated the voice emotes for all survivors. • Changed the image used for Cavalier St Construction Site on the Map. • Adjusted the hole ledges at Briarwood Hotel to prevent survivors falling instead of jumping over them. • Added alternate zombie layouts for 38 Irving Drive, Auteur Video, Vivaldi's, The Hitchpost and Walton Post Office. • Tweaked the staircase in Texway Gas Green St. • Survivors animate faster when holding sprint while moving on a ladder. • Updated the German translations for the Improved Healing Kit and Medic trait description. • Optimizations to Griffith & Sons Hardware, Harshaw Presbyterian, Walton Taxi Depot, US Route 93 and Old Ballard. Fixes • Fixed a bug where human NPCs weren't saying the barks they were supposed to when they discovered dead allies. • Fixed a door in St Bernadette Hospital that would make survivors jitter when interacted with. • Fixed a bug where the glowing lights on zombie McBride would be visible behind the line of sight filter. • Fixed instances of characters having misaligned, pixelated or patchy hair. • Fixed a bug where the mouse hover would fight with the scroll wheel when scrolling menus, causing jittering. • Fixed Christine's name being cut off in Robbie's Survivor Mission objective in English. • Fixed the chainlink fence door in Texas Sport Supply to sound like a chainlink door when barged, instead of a regular door. • Fixed the colliders in the front awning at Red Mile Gas Station and the skylight in Fire Station 8 so dead zombies won't fall through it. • Fixed a bug where zombies would fall through the floor in Buckland Auto Salvage. • Fixed a bug in Hudson's Survivor Mission where ladders would not appear on returning to Cavalier St Construction Site. • Also fixed a bug where McBride would reappear when returning to Cavalier St Construction Site. • Fixed a bug where Joe's Survivor Mission ending event had some incorrect text. • Fixed a bug where some weapon shadows were stuttering. • Fixed flickering shadow in Griffith & Sons Hardware. • Fixed jittery animations when interacting with some Vantage Points. • Fixed a place in Southern Spur Records where zombies could get stuck. • Fixed a floating ledge hang at Mercer High School. • Fixed some instances of headshots missing because of how some animations reposition the character's head. • Fixed survivors spamming barks in the 22 Springwood Drive shelter. • Fixed a bug where Kitchen Sink Stew was not giving vegetarian survivors a morale debuff. • Fixed Guangzhou Wok shelter having a piece of missing road. • Fixed a bug where some shadows and details were popping in and out on 38 Irving Drive. • Fixed a bug at the CDC Field Station where survivors could not shoot into the truck through its roof hatch. • Fixed a bug at St Bernadette Hospital where a door would clip through a vending machine when it opened. • Fixed a bug where Nora's Splitting Maul weapon was visible through the line-of-sight filter. • Fixed some hanging lights at Chiefways Transport Depot not being connected to the ceiling. • Fixed the ladder at Best Electronics clipping through the floor of the balcony. • Fixed an issue where the Grape Juice recipe post water outage for survivors with the Good Cook skill required three bottles of water instead of one. Coming for Update #16 in October • Dogs! • Weapon repair and durability rebalancing • Shelter defenses overhaul _____ Want to chat with the dev team and other players?
