1000xRESIST

One of those games that, when they get you, you just go with the flow until the end. You get in a state where you can't objectively look at the flaws because the storytelling is so strong that the flaws aren't important anymore. The game is a visual novel in a 3D world with a bit of "platforming" and the only place I can think of where you might give up on the game is right at the beginning. It's one big mystery...

Basically, Evangelion if it was written by a gay Chinese woman. It's a glorified visual novel, but the story is actually pretty phenomenal, skilfully combining intimate personal narratives with an existential sci-fi setting. The end result is something you'll be forced to ponder while laying in bed at night.
